A young engineer was leaving the office at 5:45 p.m. when he found the
CEO standing in front of a shredder with a piece of paper in his hand.

“Listen,” said the CEO, “this is a very sensitive and important
document, and my secretary is not here. Can you make this thing work?”

“Certainly, Sir!” said the young engineer. He turned on the machine, inserted the paper, and pressed the start button.

“Excellent, excellent!” said the CEO as his paper disappeared inside the machine, “I just need one copy.”

WOMEN WHO KNOW THEIR PLACE

Barbara Walters, of 20/20, did a story on gender roles in Kabul, Afghanistan , several years before the Afghan conflict.

She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their husbands.

She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind their husbands. Despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem to, and are happy to, maintain the old custom.

Ms. Walters approached one of the Afghan women and asked, “Why do you now seem happy with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?”

The woman looked Ms. Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation said,
“Land Mines.”

Moral of the story is (no matter what language you speak or where you go)

Have you seen the TV Show “Who Do You Think You Are”?  If you haven’t it is pretty interesting.  Ancestory.com is taking a look into the family history of some famous actors and singers.  Last week was Rosie O’Donald.  They were able to trace her history back to Ireland.

Long story short, Shari, My wife has taken it into her own hands to be very interested in this.  She has started to spend a lot of time doing research.  A new upcoming update to our Family Tree Maker file is on it’s way.

Linda is almost back to normal.  The phone screening has been cancelled so if you want to call her feel free.  Since no one called to talk to me I assume no one wanted to talk to me and I think my feelings might be hurt L.   Anyway she has taken the phone away from me.

Glad to have her eating and drinking and feeling much much better.

Good morning all:  Report on Linda as of Thursday 11am

She had a pretty good night,  most systems are functioning pretty well.  Currently she is on the couch in the den but headed back to bed soon.  Very little pain which is always good.  I am screening the phone calls so unless you want to talk to me, and why wouldn’t you, you might wait until Friday to talk with her.

It is now about 9:30pm and Linda is doing great.  She is looking forward leaving around early afternoon on Wed.  And in an effort to NOT help the Postal Service shrink their 7 BILLION DOLLAR DEBT THIS YEAR she has access to email and would love to receive one from anyone with fingers that do the walking.

I, however, am open to presents, cash, etc., if you so feel the need and want to make my day :::)))

Hey Ya’ll, Cousin Linda, had surgery today as many of you already know. We were there this morning until after surgery and she is doing great. Bruce is okay too!  Let’s all try to brighten the days ahead and send cards!
